Up in the Air
Up in the Air is an upbeat solo for very early beginners of all ages that includes a teacher duet. This piece can be taught by note, rote, or finger number and features bass clef notation and the use of a group of three black keys with the left hand. Part of the Rising Starz Volume 1 songbook.
June is a dramatic solo for later intermediate pianists. The mysterious setting evokes the mood of a summer storm with tumultuous wind. Crashing pops of lightning punctuate the primary theme while arpeggiated flourishes mimic the downpour of sudden rain. This is one of a set of 12 month-titled pieces by Sarah Reaser O’Brien, NCTM.
Left Hand Rag
Left Hand Rag, is a fun early intermediate ragtime style piece for the left hand, by British composer Joanne Griffiths. Reminiscent of a Joplin Rag, it is a workout for the left hand with plenty of bass reading and includes syncopation, chromaticism, pattern-based riffs and lots of bass reading.
