Simply Chopin Preludes
The idea for this book came from listening to some of my favorite piano literature. Enchanted by the absolutely beautiful, lyrical melodies of Chopin’s Opus 28, I found myself wishing my own intermediate students could enjoy them now, and not just the handful of Preludes that are more accessible for students. As I edited these Preludes with intermediate hands and minds, it was my desire to preserve their full length, in the original keys, and with as much of Chopin’s original markings as possible. I hope you agree the result is a celebration of Chopin’s original work, but now accessible for the intermediate student!
Piano Pronto®: Coda
Piano Pronto: Coda offers a delightful mix of twenty-five well-known classical melodies with music history included. This book can be used as a transition out of traditional method books or as a supplemental resource for intermediates of all ages. Arrangements by Jennifer Eklund with historical notes covering the major periods of music history and anecdotes about each work by Meagan Mason.
Polyrhythms for Pianists
This book presents strategies for learning to play polyrhythms, from the most common ones, such as two against three, up through four against five. It contains rhythm exercises, improvisation suggestions, and thirteen pieces based on polyrhythms. Once you’ve worked with the book, you might develop intense cravings for more polyrhythms, and may even be inspired to compose polyrhythmic pieces of your own.
Simply Chopin Nocturnes
The idea for this series came from listening to some of my favorite piano literature. Chopin was a master at creating absolutely beautiful, lyrical melodies, and I found myself wishing my own intermediate students could enjoy playing his music. This collection featuring, ten of Chopin’s Nocturnes, is the second book in this series, and is aimed at preserving as much of his original works as possible, while making them accessible for the intermediate student.
Calm, composed by Jenny Walker, is a peaceful meditative solo for intermediates. The left hand provides a gentle, rocking accompaniment, much of which is in the treble clef. The mood is fairly constant throughout and there is room for some rubato when the left hand reach increases towards the middle of the work.
Moonlight Sonata multi-pack features three high-quality solo arrangements by Jennifer Eklund: one for late beginners, one intermediate version in E minor, and an intermediate version in the original key of C-sharp minor. Music history lesson pages included!
