What an amazing collection of songs. I had a teen play through this book, and he loved every single song. How often does that happen? We frequently review music from this book for fun. I highly recommend adding this book to your lessons.

The pieces in Sarah Reaser O’Brien’s contemporary intermediate set Star City Solos demonstrate both the hand of an experienced teacher and a creative musical mind. Thoughtfully and carefully crafted for level appropriateness and pedagogical effectiveness, they span a delightful breadth of technical features, stylistic idioms, and musical goals. The set is a welcome addition to the repertoire available at this level, and a wonderful tribute to Virginia’s Roanoke Valley region, to which its title refers; the dedication of each locally-titled piece to a teacher from this area is a fitting tribute to teaching colleagues in the community.

Just purchased this. I know I will be ordering more as I have several students that I think the variety of music styles will be great for them. Well done. Love it.

I have just listened to these and they sound great. I don't have a student ready to play these at the moment but liked them so much I'm going to buy a copy to play myself.
