Piano Pronto® Finale: Soundtrack

Isolation was written in early 2020 by Stacy Fahrion. This expressive intermediate piece begins and ends in 5/4, and features palindromic rhythms (rhythms that are the same backwards and forwards) and a gentle two against three polyrhythm in the middle section.

Harvest Time is a lively, hoe-down style character piece by Canadian composer Lisa Frederick. With a little touch of jazzy flair and its varied sectional form, this piece will delight students and audiences alike!

God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen, arranged in a fast and flashy style by Lisa Donovan Lukas. This showcase solo is well-suited for intermediates of all ages.

Glad Rags by Jenny Walker is a catchy, modern ragtime duet that fluctuates between minor and major keys. The second provides the main rhythmic drive whilst the primo part has long, single notes and syncopated snippets. This showcase duet serves as a fun introduction to the ragtime style.

The Theory Time Placement Tests coordinate with the Workbook Series, and are an effective diagnostic tool to evaluate a new student or a transfer student on their current knowledge of music theory and aural skills. This reproducible packet includes eight levels of Placement Tests, eight levels of Ear Training Tests, a Teacher Evaluation Chart for written and aural tests, and a Teacher Ear Training Guide for each level. Its bouncy rhythms make it fun to listen to, and to play as well. It also could be used as a “non-scary” Halloween piece, or for any performance occasion.

Theory Time Grade Eight workbook is an intermediate comprehensive theory workbook. The piece contains a certain cheeky-feel combined with the passion of a tango. This selection is ideal for intermediates.

In My Dreams, composed by Rick Robertson, is an intermediate level solo in a neo-Romantic lyrical style. It is inspired by romantic film music and will make an excellent recital choice for a sensitive player. This piece is part of the Lyric Moments songbook.
