The blowing of the shofar, or ram’s horn, is an integral part of the services, announcing the new year to all. Often, the shofar is blown near a body of water. The cover features an Israeli shofar belonging to Debbie’s son, Joel. Debbie created the photograph at her lake home in Nevis, Minnesota.
