Double Trouble is a book of unique duets by Stacy Fahrion. This book gives pianists opportunities to experiment with blues improvisation and extended techniques. It includes showy pieces in odd meters, several wild boogies, a melancholy lyrical waltz, and, of course, a tarantella that has Itsy Bitsy Spider surreptitiously woven into it. Most of the pieces are based in minor keys, modal, or use the double harmonic major scale.

Hymns of Praise features ten sacred solos arranged by Sandra Zylstra. These traditional pieces are well-suited for early intermediates of all ages.

Minor Blues for Two by Stacy Fahrion gives the first pianist an opportunity to improvise over a 12-bar blues progression. If played on a grand piano, the pianist can also mute strings inside the piano for an interesting change of tone color.

The Exquisite Melancholy of Everything Left Unuttered is a delicate waltz in E minor for two composed by Stacy Fahrion.

Interlude features thirty familiar solos from Keyboard Kickoff, Prelude, and Pronto Pizazz Volume 1, transposed to the keys of G and F major, and adjusted to include more independent work between the hands. The pieces, which include teacher duets, can be used to challenge early beginners, as a lateral move for students who need reading reinforcement, or for transfer students who need a refresher of basic concepts before starting Movement 1.

Gloomy Old Saint Nick is a jazzy ditty about how it’s okay not to be jolly all the time, even during the holidays. Music arranged by Stacy Fahrion.

Cool Cats is a collection of eleven jazz-style showcase solos, composed by Chrissy Ricker, dedicated to fur babies of the feline persuasion. This songbook is ideally suited for early intermediates and also includes a suggested listening guide covering the genres presented within the book.

Silent Night arranged in a serene lyrical style for late intermediates by Stacy Fahrion.

Gobble Wobble Rag is an upbeat pattern-based ragtime solo composed by Jennifer Eklund. This is a great exercise for early intermediates with a focus on split articulations between the hands. Gobble, gobble!

This is an original work by Jenny, depicting the journey made by a Troika, a Russian vehicle drawn by three horses over a snow-clad landscape. The dotted rhythm of right-hand notes gives a ragtime-like feel to the piece. The mood is cheeky and jovial, an intermediate-level thrill ride.

The Sussex Carol (sometimes called “On Christmas Night All Christians Sing”) is a very popular carol in England. This arrangement by Jenny Walker, has a jaunty, 6/8 feel and is similar in style to “I Saw Three Ships”. It is a lovely, lilting carol with a joyous, rhythmic sway.

Patapan, arranged for six hands, one piano, in an upbeat setting by Lisa Donovan Lukas. This showcase selection is ideal for intermediates and includes a set of parts and a full conductor’s score.

Shadow Walker is an easy minor-key solo for late beginners composed by Jennifer Eklund. This piece is part of the Fired Up! Level Two method book for older beginners and includes a lush teacher duet.

Coventry Carol, arranged for six hands, one piano, in a lyrical setting by Lisa Donovan Lukas. This selection is ideal for early intermediates and includes a set of parts and a full conductor’s score.

Wind Whirls, composed by Rick Robertson, is an early intermediate level showcase solo. Its passages divided between the hands give it a showy effect, with some interesting harmonies.

A hauntingly beautiful arrangement of Avinu Malkeinu (Our Father, Our King) arranged by Debbie Center. This piece is a beloved Jewish New Year prayer which is sung in synagogues around the world during the High Holidays of Rosh Hashana (New Year) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). The blowing of the shofar, or ram’s horn, is an integral part of the services, announcing the new year to all. Often, the shofar is blown near a body of water. The cover features an Israeli shofar belonging to Debbie’s son, Joel. Debbie created the photograph at her lake home in Nevis, Minnesota.
