Double Trouble is a book of unique duets by Stacy Fahrion. This book gives pianists opportunities to experiment with blues improvisation and extended techniques. It includes showy pieces in odd meters, several wild boogies, a melancholy lyrical waltz, and, of course, a tarantella that has Itsy Bitsy Spider surreptitiously woven into it. Most of the pieces are based in minor keys, modal, or use the double harmonic major scale.

Gobble Wobble Rag is an upbeat pattern-based ragtime solo composed by Jennifer Eklund. This is a great exercise for early intermediates with a focus on split articulations between the hands. Gobble, gobble!
This is an original work by Jenny, depicting the journey made by a Troika, a Russian vehicle drawn by three horses over a snow-clad landscape. The dotted rhythm of right-hand notes gives a ragtime-like feel to the piece. The mood is cheeky and jovial, an intermediate-level thrill ride.
The Sussex Carol (sometimes called “On Christmas Night All Christians Sing”) is a very popular carol in England. This arrangement by Jenny Walker, has a jaunty, 6/8 feel and is similar in style to “I Saw Three Ships”. It is a lovely, lilting carol with a joyous, rhythmic sway.

A hauntingly beautiful arrangement of Avinu Malkeinu (Our Father, Our King) arranged by Debbie Center. This piece is a beloved Jewish New Year prayer which is sung in synagogues around the world during the High Holidays of Rosh Hashana (New Year) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). The blowing of the shofar, or ram’s horn, is an integral part of the services, announcing the new year to all. Often, the shofar is blown near a body of water. The cover features an Israeli shofar belonging to Debbie’s son, Joel. Debbie created the photograph at her lake home in Nevis, Minnesota.
