I recently bought a copy of “Creepy Crawlers” for a young student who is just starting to learn about dotted quarter/eighth note rhythms. We tapped the rhythm, then he sight read it, and finally we played the duet. When he heard both parts together he was blown away, and immediately said that “for sure this will have to be one of his recital pieces!”. What a lovely piece – we both enjoyed playing it immensely. I highly recommend it!

The duet has two versions. For me, the Primo is for Prelude but the secondo is probably for Movement 2+. It is easy to play on the Primo but on the secondo it is a little bit challenging. I love the way Jennifer arranges: easy for Primo and challenging for the secondo.

This will be a nice piece to offer students at Halloween – the secondo part adds a sophisticated sound.

I loved this piece for Halloween! It sounded creepy and interesting and the kids loved it! It was great for reinforcing dotted rhythms.
