The First Noel
This beloved traditional carol is given a lush harmonic treatment by Rick Robertson, with little “counter-phrases” that dart in and out. This arrangement is very well-suited for use in a church Christmas program, as a prelude or offertory and is part of the Christmas Memories songbook.
A medley of traditional Thanksgiving tunes arranged in a contemporary lyrical setting for intermediates by Jennifer Eklund. Features Over the River and Through the Woods and We Gather Together. Perfect for recitals, church offertories, or just casual enjoyment during the holiday season!
A Mostly Minor Christmas
A Mostly Minor Christmas, is a quirky late intermediate collection by Stacy Fahrion that contains some familiar carols arranged in unfamiliar ways, such as Deck the Halls, in 7/8, and Mambo All the Way, a minor-key mambo version of Jingle Bells. There are a couple of jazzy tunes with silly lyrics, including Gloomy Old St. Nick, and O Spider Tree. Finally, there are several soaring lyrical carols in mostly minor keys. The only piece in this collection that’s in a major key is a subtly reharmonized version of Silent Night.
Deck the Halls
Deck the Halls arranged as a lively holiday showcase solo by Jenny Walker. After a flamboyant introduction, the first section has a walking bass with a single-note melody in the right hand. The second has a much more modern feel, with syncopated chords in a pop-rock style.
