This is a free-flowing piece with elements taken from the Scottish folk song ‘Mairi’s Wedding’ which then develop into a unique melody which pervades the rest of the work. It starts innocuously, with some off-beat chords in the left hand whilst the right plays the tune and develops into a more regularly metered, dance section. The wedding gains momentum and an element of Irish cheek is heard throughout. A lovely piece for all to enjoy.

This is a rock-style, funky piece with a Celtic-like melody and snatched right hand chords. The dotted rhythm in the left hand provides a drive throughout. There is a contrapuntal section where the right hand plays the melody along with a similar one in the left, possibly the hardest part of this work. It is great fun to play, in a true flashy showcase style.
