This is a free-flowing piece with elements taken from the Scottish folk song ‘Mairi’s Wedding’ which then develop into a unique melody which pervades the rest of the work. It starts innocuously, with some off-beat chords in the left hand whilst the right plays the tune and develops into a more regularly metered, dance section. The wedding gains momentum and an element of Irish cheek is heard throughout. A lovely piece for all to enjoy.
