I have many students who love to play in minor keys. The bitter in a minor key is then softened into sweet. Perfect for a sensitive student. Also great teaching material with various rhythms and tempos.

When a student comes in week after week telling you how much they love a piece, you have a happy teacher and excited student! The title is perfect. This piece definitely tells a story of the bitter as well as the sweet, with varying tempos and changes of mood. We had some questions about interpretation and it was such a delight to be able to ask Lisa directly about them.

One of my 7th grade students has just started this piece, and frankly, she's in love with it!

Full of expressive phrases, Bittersweet has a beautiful and graceful flow throughout. I love the tempo pickup and key change in the middle giving it a lift and perhaps 'hope' in the end.
